MEET ANDREW
Andrew Jones was born in Cairo, Illinois, and raised in East St. Louis, a mere seven miles from his current home in the Botanical Heights neighborhood.
A proud St. Louis resident for over 30 years, he has served his community in various capacities, particularly mentoring our youth.
Andrew became fascinated with the business world at a young age. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Business Administration from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. He also holds two advanced degrees from St. Louis Universities, with an MA in International Business from Webster University and an MBA from Washington University's Olin School of Business.
Andrew rose through the ranks at power and energy company Ameren, and then moved to his current position as the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Southwest Electric. He currently lives in the Botanical Heights neighborhood with his wife, Shelia.
ISSUES
Andrew believes in the principles that have made this country great: hard work, determination, and unyielding dedication to our values. As a candidate for Congress, he is committed to ensuring that these values continue to guide our policy decisions. Working side-by-side with Andrew Jones, we will fight to protect our liberties and preserve the American Dream for future generations.
EDUCATION
For too long public schools have failed our students, particularly minority students who are stuck in schools with poor performance. As a Father and Grandfather, Andrew understands that family should be involved in their child’s education. Parents should be able to choose how best to education their children, be it public, private, charter, or home schooling. More school choice and options afford parents the ability to choose how to best educate their child.
ECONOMY & INFLATION
Our economy is stagnant and the price of goods continues to rise. This stagnation is caused by failed policies and out of control government spending. As a businessman, Andrew understand the importance of sound fiscal policy guiding our federal government's spending. He will work to keep taxes low, reduce red tape, and limit wasteful government spending.
CRIME & SAFETY
Citizens deserve to be safe in their homes and on our streets. We must ensure police have adequate funding, training, end equipment to keep our families safe. Criminals need to be prosecuted to deter future crime, not allowed to repeat their offenses. Andrew will stand up for our first responders and always back the blue.
IMMIGRATION
Our border is not secured and America has suffered because of this. Crime from gangs, human trafficking, and deadly drugs flow across our border daily. Illegal immigrants are draining public services meant for our citizens, diverting resources needed to care for our own. Andrew will fight to secure our border and deter illegal immigration.
DEBT
America has accumulated over $34 trillion dollars of debt. This number should frighten every American. This debt has helped to balloon inflation and our interest payments alone are becoming a huge burden. Our nation must begin to pay down our debt to ensure that services Americans enjoy will be able to continue. We need leaders in Congress who will make tough decisions to balance our budget to safeguard future generations
